I felt the book dealt very realistically with the pyschological effects of being told you are not who you thought you were and being forced into an unfamiliar way of life. The main character was often distraught but I never felt she was overly whiney. Sometimes the other characters fell flat but they were overall still interesting.
Parts of this book were quite predictable. In particular the romantic elemant of the book was obvious. However the plot managed to suprise me. The ending was a little too neat and tidy for me but it was an enjoyable book.
